Abstract

This article presents a novel medium access control (MAC) using a slotted point coordination function called S-PCF. This new scheme can be used to enhance the QoS of multi media traffic in IEEE 802.11 WLAN. An analytical model for S-PCF is developed and shows network performance like bandwidth rate, delay and loss. This study highlights that S-PCF is a very interesting solution to provide QoS in IEEE 802.11 WLAN.
