CORBA, Event, Real-time, Quality of service.
The event communication model is used in several types of applications such as multimedia, teleconference, and avionics. It is an asynchronous communication model useful for real-time applications. However, there are few real-time or quality of service (QoS) capable implementations of this communication model. TAO is an implementation of real-time CORBA specification. In this paper, we analyze the performance of the real-time Event Service of TAO which is based on this model. The performance of the dispatcher module of TAO's real-time Event Service is analyzed for different types of events.
