Abstract

This paper describes the implementation and the performance evaluation of newly developed high speed real-time network, ERCNet, for distributed control system (DCS). ERCNet is developed to meet the user requirements of bandwidth, the maintainability and the real-time property. To evaluate the performance of the ERCNet, analytical method is used. The measure of performance is the shared data update time (SDUT) that is the time required to update the shared data among all ERCNet nodes. To validate the correctness of the analysis, the experiments are carried out.
