Automated Meter Reading Application, SCADA, CSMAProtocol, Wireless Ad-Hoc Network.
Many technologies have been developed for Automated Meter Reading (AMR) functions and Distribution Automa tion (DA) for utility applications (water, gas and electric ity). In this paper, we propose an application protocol, for these utilities, implemented on a wireless, low cost net work. This network has a similar architecture to a static ad-hoc sensor network based on low power and unlicensed radio. Analytic studies based on topological parameters are developed to find different polling schemes and a pseudo range criterion is defined to create an specific spanning tree for polling purposes.
