QoS scheduler, multimedia stream scheduling, IVOD sys tems.
This paper addressess issues in scheduling and bandwidth management in interactive continuous-media (e.g. audio and video) servers. These servers are often called In teractive Video-on-Demand (IVOD) systems. We intro duce a new framework in which streams of multimedia are scheduled using Quality of Service (QoS) parameters. We present an approach to obtaining the best QoS parameters in each multimedia stream according to their resources and interests. Our QoS-aware schedulers provide an efficient mechanism for controlling the resource utilization of IVOD systems.
