On Mason’s Gain Formula

Abstract

A method is presented for simplifying the calculation of transfer functions using Mason's Gain Formula. Nodes that do not affect the output under consideration are deleted from the signal-flow graph and Mason's Gain Formula is applied to the remainder. Also, there is no cancellation of terms in the numerator and denominator of the resulting transfer functions.
