Adaptive equalization, MIMO, Laguerre filter, RLS
This paper proposes and investigates a new adaptive approach to spatio-temporal equalization for MIMO (Multi-Input Multi-Output) frequency-selective channels. We consider an adaptive Laguerre matrix equalizer which applies an optimal method to select the pole and a fast RLS algorithm for adaptation. The proposed solution is tested by simulating the MIMO system and compared with the conventional equalization schemes. The simulation results show that the adaptive Laguerre equalization will achieve much better performance over the adaptive linear equalization scheme, and it can avoid the error propagation problem the decision-feedback equalization has to encounter.
