Abstract

Our aim for this study is to develop a new diagnostic method of detecting an RR interval simply and correctly using a fetal magnetocardiogram (FMCG) signal to detect a peak R wave. To obtain a clear peak, we developed two methods; one is the cancellation of a maternal magnetocardiogram signal, the other is calculation of an autocorrelation function. After deriving the autocorrelation function, we detected the peak time as a fetal heart beat. These methods were applied to FMCG signals from fetus with no arrhythmia and fetus with premature supraventricular contraction for two mins allowing us to simply and correctly detect the R-R intervals. This method could provide a new range of information about fetal heartbeat.
