Abstract

SIP-T protocol is a mechanism that uses SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) to facilitate the interconnection of PSTN with packet networks. In this paper we suggest a pattern based-development methodology where patterns are used for high-level specification of a system, and the specified system is verified in a strict way. In addition to this, we proposed a set of patterns for communication protocols to be written in SDL and applied them for the development of SIP-T protocol. Consequently we can achieve high quality by using the predefined solutions and reduce development cost through experience, reusability, and modularity of patterns.
