The minimization of the power consumption is a basic tar get for a terminal of the third generation communication system (3G). In this paper, we claim to minimize the power consumption in a CDMA2000 standard context. An adap tive RAKE receiver which adapts its parameters accord ing to the channel conditions and the mobility was con sidered. The parameters such as the number of allocated fingers (Nf ) as well as the length of the channel estima tion window (Lf ) were taken into account for to tradeoff between performance and power consumption.
