Abstract

: The non-orthogonal signature of interfering users in a DS/CDMA system causes multiple access interference (MAI), which may severely deteriorate the performance of a traditional receiver. In this paper, the tracking performance of a Modified Code Tracking Loop (MCTL) for Synchronous DS/CDMA systems with an antenna array is presented. Minimum mean square error algorithm (MMSE) is used to process the signals from the antennas to alleviate the MAI. Computer simulations are used to compare the performance of a traditional MCTL with a single antenna and a MCTL with an antenna array (MCTLA). It is found that MCTLA achieves superior tracking performance in general.
