All-Optical WDM Buffer System Realized by NOLM and Feedback Loop

An efficient buffer system is essential technique for realization of all-optical packet switching. In this paper, we propose and demonstrate an all-optical WDM buffer for optical packet switching system, which consists of NOLM and feedback loop. The proposed structure provides more than 40 turn buffering for single input pulse (1550nm, width: 20ns) and nice output of buffered data when selected by control signal (1553nm, width: 30ns).
