Industrial control is currently based in the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) paradigm, which encapsulates control and response functionality for a defined and well determined known problem and scenario. This paper presents an approach to make reusable and reliable software components and develop a generic controller environment to develop modular controllers for a wide range of devices present in the industry.
