Abstract

This paper deals with the detection and diagnosis of faults when they develop in different parts of a PEM fuel cell system. The diagnosis algorithm is based on a singular pencil model and on-line expert systems. Inputs of the expert systems are the process I/O data, such as pressure and temperature, parameters estimated by Kalman filter, and state values calculated by dynamic equations, and outputs of the expert systems are fault situations in fuel cell system.
