Abstract

Wearable and whole body antennas have received much interest recently due to the introduction of personal communication technology. Demand for new antenna technologies increases dramatically during next years. This paper presents the modelling of a novel fleece fabric GPS antenna for smart clothes. The modelling is based on EFIE formulation where RWG basis functions are used to approximate surface current density of an antenna. The GPS antenna is manufactured on fleece fabric and conductive parts are made of aracon fabric. This is the first full-fabric antenna ever made for commercial smart clothing. Simulation results are verified in practice which agreed very well.
