Antenna placement, Wearable antennas, Telecommunications, Mobile networks.
During the recent years smart clothes and wearable computers have received worldwide interest. The addition of different wireless services in smart clothes has resulted a need for new antenna technologies. This is the first study on what antenna types should be used and how many antennas are needed in smart clothing to obtain full horizontal plane coverage. In addition, a human body operation in the vicinity of an antenna is an important factor to be considered. The human body is modeled using a plastic bucket filled with a saline liquid to approximate tissue's average electrical properties. The modeling results are verified in practice and good agreement was obtained.
