Abstract

-Simulator with optimal step time (SOST) is a hybrid solution of large HVdc/HVac systems . Detailed simulation of HVdc converter behavior has been modified to include automatic selection of optimal integration steps, frequency-dependent effects of ac system, ac system phase and magnitude dynamics of voltage (Particularly weak ac systems), Control assessment and temporary over voltage consequences[1]. SOST, via graphical interfaces, to provide fast and accurate information of electromechanical and electromagnetic-transients behavior of Large HVdc/HVac system.
