Abstract

A current controller is described for generating 3-level unipolar pwm voltage waveforms. The zero-crossover of the current-error signal is used to generate the reference signal for a fixed switching frequency carrier-based pwm scheme. The quality of the reference signal, consisting of both proportional and integral components, is not affected by variations in the magnitude of the current-error ripple. The controller is demonstrated using simulations of a sev eral converter types. The controller is mainly intended for an asymmetrical half-bridge dc-link filter located within a 3-phase rectifier, as distorted supply voltages create signif icant distortion in the voltage feedback signals.
