Abstract

In this paper the process for dimensioning and optimal design of tree path pipe network for the transport of incompressible fluids is given. The mathematical model is composed of nonlinear objective function and a system of hydraulic restriction inequalities which are solved implicitly by the use of a numeric Simplex optimization method. The cost analysis is made according to the method of capitalized costs which include the investment, operating and maintenance costs, taking into account the corresponding discount rate.
