Abstract

In this paper a special brushless exciter model in form of three synchronous machines in power stations has been investigated. Synchronous machines have been generally modelled according to the d-q axis theory. The exciter system has been modelled by dynamic blocks with nonlinear characteristic curves which represent the behavior of machine terminal well, but for representing the behavior of the internal stressing of the exciter system are insufficient. These concepts are not suitable for calculating the stressing of different parts of the excitation system. The main emphasis of this article is an investigated model consisting of the generator, the main exciter and the auxiliary exciter as well as diodes and thyristors in the excitation system.
