--Fuzzy logic, tabu search.
--It is usually easier to optimize the numeric membership functions in a Mamdani type fuzzy controller than optimizing linguistic rules. Optimization of the rules table of Mamdani type fuzzy controller is presented for voltage regulation of a 645 MVA synchronous generator coupled to a thermal turbine in a machine infinite-bus system with short and long transmission lines. The tuning of the rules table of the fuzzy controller is based on Tabu Search (TS) method. The results show that the rules table is optimized, improving the fuzzy controller performance.
