Abstract

For a degree linear system with relative degree larger than one and with input and output disturbances, an improved fault reconstruc- tion scheme using a reduced order model of multi-actuators and sensors is proposed. First, the dynamic equations are transferred into the form of augmented matrices for easier manipulation. Then, an improved method is proposed for parameter design of the reduced order system, which results in a system with only generalised faults and is insensitive to generalised disturbances. The reduced order system is completely observable, which makes it easier to design a sliding mode observer for generalised fault reconstruction. Finally, simulation results demonstrate that the reduced order system is effective and robust to disturbances and is capable of reconstructing gradual and abrupt faults, and high and low frequency faults.
