Transient stability, preventive control, N-1 fault scanning, PSASP
PSASP, as a common calculation and simulation analysis software for planning, scheduling and operation personnel in power sector, is used to check and determine the operation modes as well as analyse and calculate the fault. However, when the structure of power grid is complex, involving too many lines and nodes, the N-1 fault calculation with PSASP is complicated, time-consuming and inefficient. Based on the research of PSASP data interface, this article proposes a method of N-1 fault scanning for improving the efficiency of power system transient stability calculation. It applies online N-1 fault scanning program to the safety and stability check of N-1 operation mode and selects the lines where the system does not meet the temporary stability check. It puts forward corresponding effective pre-control measures to make its application in large power grids possible and provides a more convenient and efficient checking tool for planning and operation personnel. The simulation results of IEEE 36-node power grid show that the proposed method has good effect and engineering practicability.
