One of the typical operation modes of the extra-high voltage (EHV) long transmission line is that the power factor at its receiving end is constant. Since the analytical formula of EHV long transmission line is complex, it is diļ¬cult to get its operation characteristic. This paper proposes a circle diagram method to analyze the operation characteristics of EHV long transmission line with the constant power factor at its receiving end. The method includes how to plot the circle diagram. It is used to analyze the power-voltage characteristics of the receiving end of EHV long distance transmission line and calculate the parameters of the limiting transmission points. The proposed method is proved to be intuitive and clear.
