Abstract

In this work, we present an application of the fuzzy approach to fault detection and isolation (FDI) in industrial processes with complex type of parameters, based on dynamic fuzzy model for fault detection and diagnosis. The successful use of fuzzy observer model is presented, with the real plant data used for the validation design of fuzzy observer. This work illustrates a real implementation to the compression systems supervision task using the basic principles of model-based FDI associated with the self-tuning of surge measurements with subsequent appropriate corrective actions, for the limitations of surge in natural gas pipeline compressors.
