Buck converter, genetic algorithm, parameter optimization, chaos control
This paper proposes an implementation of systematic genetic algorithm–based optimization technique for controlling chaos in switched mode power converters with chaotic dynamics by optimizing the system parameters. The optimization process entails the selection of system component values in a switching converter to prevent the system entering the chaotic regime. The approach avoids extensive computations that are usually found in other controlling techniques. Simulations with the buck converter are conducted to show the effectiveness of the approach.
