Abstract

This paper describes determination of parameters of proportional integral (PI) controllers used for inverter fed synchronous motor drive. Two control loops are considered, namely, speed and current feedback loops. Using D-partition technique, controller parameters are determined on the basis of relative stability and damping ratio. The stability of system, with the designed controller parameters, is checked by frequency scanning technique and the transient responses are computed.
