The data-hiding approach in the data compression domain has recently become of great interest. Secret data embedded in the compressed file would not be easily found and people would not suspect that there is something important hidden in the file. This paper presents a data-hiding approach that hides the secret data within a block truncation coding (BTC) image. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme can embed a large volume of secret data in the compressed file while maintaining satisfactory image quality.
