Abstract

A mathematical model (EROSE) considering Economy of data com- munication channels, Redundancy, Observability and phasor mea- surement unit (PMU) availability for State Estimation is proposed. The effects of zero injection buses and combined PMU loss/line outage formulations have also been examined. Subsequently, a Bi- nary Coded Ant Lion Optimization is proposed to solve the EROSE model and the best compromise solution is determined among non-dominated solutions using fuzzy linear membership functions. Several IEEE standard test systems and the New England 39 bus system are used to test the superiority of the intended approach. At last, experimentation of a large-scale 2383 bus system confirms that the intended model/tool always yield reliable/cost-effective measurement locations as compared to those obtained one and only with PMU placement.
