Compact fluorescent lamps, power system harmonics, neutral current
The current number of compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) in power distribution systems is increasing because of their low energy consumption in comparison with traditional incandescent lamps, and their long average useful life. The paper experimentally studies CFL consumed currents and neutral current in three-phase networks with CFLs. It is shown that supply voltage unbalance and different types of CFLs per phase have a small impact on the neutral current, while the influence of a different number of CFLs is greater.
