Abstract

With the fast growing development of printing consumables industry in China, especially in Shanghai, it is imperative to develop the remanufacturing for reducing the contamination of printing consumables. This paper gathered information on the remanufacturing of printing consumables in Shanghai. Its significance is that it can be both profitable and less harmful to the environment in comparison to conventional manufacturing. Experiences show that formal waste printing consumables recycling systems should take into account. On the other hand, more policies have been begun implementing to promote recycling rates and working conditions, reduce fake products from informal sectors. It also analyzed industry chain of printing consumables, discussed the duties of promoting the project and the main difficulties existed, analyzed positive and effective measures to promote the remanufactured printing consumables in Shanghai.
