The main purpose of the article is to present our investigation concerning human face detection. We were concentrated on static images, it is one of the most important and challenging issues in the computer vision. Research has been conducted as a part of face recognition system being developed in INDECT project. Facial features are detected using Haar cascades. By combining those two approaches scalable and efficient solution has been created. This paper sheds light on a problem of face detection and describes each stage of proposed algorithm. Examples of output are shown and some information about prototype is presented.
