Abstract

: In this paper we propose a method for evaluating wireless local area networks (WLAN) using Generalized Stochastic Petri Nets (GSPN). Networks are modeled by GSPN and reachability graphs of the GSPN model are analyzed by the Petri Net analysis tool TtimeNet. The mean delay and its standard deviation (jitter) for networks are calculated using equations derived from a Markov chain composed from the reachability graph. In this paper we also present an example of evaluation for access categories in 802.11eWirelessLAN.
