This paper presents a new design idea of integrating the
slot antenna with the mechanism of a wireless
communication terminal. Such an antenna design owns a
comparable performance associated with the common
external antennas, yet keeps the good product appearance
an internal antenna may offer. Most importantly, it
avoids from the dilemma of complying with the EMC
regulations while having good antenna radiation.
Measurements are made to check the antenna patterns and
the transmission performance in a WLAN environment
when a slot antenna is installed in a Tablet PC.
